Ayurvedic massages and treatments in Ariège – physical and mental recovery from stress

Bodywork to release accumulated tension, support recovery, and help the body come out of a state of overload.

Formats adapted to your current state

At ReViva, Ayurvedic bodywork is offered in different formats, in order to meet you where you are in your journey — whether you’d like to enjoy a one-off recovery pause (Massages), or to deepen your follow-up with personalised bodywork.

These are particularly suited to people exposed to demanding environments (emergency work, fast-paced lifestyles), where the body remains mobilised without true recovery.

Bodywork aims to support nervous system regulation, release physical tension, and promote lasting recovery. However, it does not require immediate “letting go”: it allows the body to release progressively, even when you are still in a state of tension or hypervigilance.

Targeted support – first effects of release and recovery

These massages offer an accessible first approach, ideal if you are experiencing fatigue, tension or overload, without yet committing to deeper work.

They are particularly suitable if you wish to:

  • quickly release accumulated tension
  • reduce overload after an intense period
  • support your day-to-day wellbeing (stress, fatigue, mental overload)

Head or foot massage

Act quickly on the nervous system

This short format is designed to offer a targeted massage on a specific area of the body (either head or feet), recognised in Ayurveda for its central role in recovery and nervous system regulation.

It is particularly suitable if you:

  • feel mentally overwhelmed or agitated
  • have little time or energy
  • are looking for a quick effect of release

Practical information

Duration: 45 minutes (including 30 minutes of massage)
Investment: options between €30 and €60

Full body massage

Support overall recovery

This format supports recovery with a more global effect than a localised massage (head or feet), while remaining suitable as an introduction to Ayurveda.

It is ideal if you wish to:

  • release diffuse muscular tension
  • support nervous system recovery
  • regain a sense of stability and grounding

Practical information

Duration: 60 minutes (including 45 minutes of massage)
Investment: options between €45 and €65

If you are experiencing persistent stress or burnout, a consultation or a structured programme may be also appropriate.

To combine understanding and bodywork in a condensed format, you may explore Immersions.

Ongoing support – personalised bodywork for recovery and regulation

Ayurveda offers a wide range of body techniques, using oils, milks, herbs, powders, decoctions, dry heat or steam. While such treatments may sometimes be offered “à la carte” elsewhere, here the aim is not occasional relief, but targeted work on recovery, regulation, and resolving established imbalances.

To ensure precise adaptation, these sessions are reserved to:

Why is Personalised Bodywork not offered “à la carte”?

Ayurvedic body therapies act deeply on physiology and on the overall regulation of body and mind. Their effectiveness relies on precise adaptation to the individual: constitution, current imbalances, season, climate, energy level, and ongoing process.

Offering these sessions without a prior framework would mean separating the technique from its meaning. Unlike introductory massages, these treatments are part of an individualised approach.

At ReViva, the choice of techniques, substances and rhythms is therefore made on a case-by-case basis, with attention to:

  • Safety: ensuring safety and quality of care
  • Personalisation: offering tailored sessions
  • Respect for tradition: working within a traditional framework

Overview of techniques used

What to expect during a session?

How does an Ayurvedic massage take place?

A short form is sent before the session to check for any contraindications. This ensures your comfort, safety, and the quality of the treatment.

At the beginning of each session, a short exchange with your practitioner helps clarify your needs at that moment (fatigue, agitation, tension, need to recentre). The massage is then adapted within a simple protocol, respecting your current state.

The session then lasts approximately 30 minutes (head or feet) or 45 minutes (full body).

A rest and integration period follows.

Shiroabhyanga – Head massage

Shiroabhyanga focuses on the head only (scalp, face, neck, upper back).

The massage is performed with warm Ayurvedic oil, selected according to the season and your needs.

Benefits experienced:

  • Relaxation and mental clarity
  • Sense of lightness
  • Reduced stress
  • Improved sleep
  • Feeling of grounding and centring

Padabhyanga – Foot massage

Padabhyanga focuses on the feet, ankles and calves. According to Ayurveda, the soles of the feet contain many specific energy points (marma) connected to organs and senses. By massaging the feet, the whole body is stimulated.

This massage is particularly useful:

  • In cases of mental overload
  • To support sleep and emotional stability
  • When Shiroabhyanga is not appropriate (nasal congestion, facial acne, etc.), or if you prefer not to have oil in your hair

Abhyanga – Full body massage

Abhyanga is a full-body massage with warm oil. It acts on the skin, muscles and circulation, while stimulating nerve endings. It therefore produces a global effect, both physical and mental, calming the mind and supporting metabolism.

Abhyanga is particularly useful:

  • After periods of intense work, frequent travel or overwork
  • In cases of tension or mental agitation
  • In cases of dryness or sensitivity to cold

How does personalised bodywork take place?

Before the session, you complete a preparation form to check for any contraindications and adapt the treatment to your current state.

Each session (lasting between 1 and 2 hours) includes:

  • a short exchange and preparation time
  • the body treatment(s)
  • a rest and integration period afterwards

The techniques, substances and rhythms are chosen by the practitioner according to the objective defined together. These choices are based on a prior assessment of your constitution and on traditional Ayurvedic principles. Each decision is explained so that you understand the logic behind the approach.

Differences in duration and pricing are explained in particular by:

  • the nature and cost of substances used (oils, herbs, powders, decoctions),
  • preparation time beforehand,
  • the level of intensity of the work involved

Who can access personalised bodywork?

Personalised sessions are available to:

  • people who have completed a Foundational Assessment at ReViva,
  • or those referred by another practitioner or a doctor, providing a file or written request

How many sessions are needed?

The number of sessions depends on your level of fatigue, stress, and how long the imbalances have been present.

In an Ayurvedic approach, the aim is not to “fix a symptom quickly”, but to progressively support the body’s ability to regulate and recover.

  • recent or occasional situations: 3–5 sessions
  • established stress: 5 to 10 sessions
  • deep imbalances: up to 21 sessions
